| System of modular steel forms for concrete floors |
This is a system of “modular forms” in curved (“small vault”-shaped) steel sheets with a width of fifty cm. The module can be adapted to the floor sizes up to a maximum length of about five metres by combining modular sections of different length. These sections are placed next to each other to cover the entire floor space.
Each section has inclined ends to facilitate easy and rapid dismounting. Before pouring the cement, a covering piece is put over the gap between the sections. There is a steel base frame to reinforce the curved forms and to facilitate storage.

There are keys at the end of each section to hook them together when placed end to end . When two sections are placed side by side, a V-shaped metal reinforcement structure can be put between them. After pouring the concrete, this V-shaped form becomes the reinforcement structure of the building. The cement that covers this reinforcement structure allows a floor depth of 18 centimetres.

Apart from the speed and simplicity of execution, essentially due to the lack of wooden moulds and the resulting reduction of load bearing points, the continuous structure means that normal brick supports are not necessary. This makes the structure lighter than a normal slab.
The system is excellent for floor lengths of 1.20 to 5.00 metres, but it is also possible, without any particular problem, to reach a length of 6 metres. This system - as can be deduced from the above description - is particularly well suited to “low cost and public housing”, as this type of construction doesn’t have a complicated typology. |

| As regards the certifications required at the European level, based on current calculations, the tests on the behaviour of the structure and on its breaking point have given positive results. |
